We are hoping to be able to move into our new home at the end of this week! It is amazing how absolutely perfect God’s timing is, and if everything goes according to His plan, which is also always perfect, we will be in our new home by week’s end. Denny worked really hard last week to finish painting the interior and he worked all day on Sunday outside trying to get the yard to look somewhat decent until we can focus/invest on some new landscaping. A HUGE thank you to my parents, who came out on Sunday to help us out! My dad worked with Denny outside, while my mom and I tackled the inside. Bathrooms and kitchen are now clean and move-in ready! Really, the only thing left to do is pack up our apartment, load up the truck, and go!! It will be so weird to leave our cozy little apartment, our first home together, and move to a big ole’ house… but I can’t wait. It will be SOOOOOOOO nice to have space, not to feel like there is clutter everywhere, all the time, not to share walls with 3 other units, to have a garage and a backyard, and more than 1 bathroom, and a spacious kitchen, and a laundry ROOM, and a dining ROOM, and a GUEST BEDROOM… I could go on and on!
Baby Stats—Cantaloupe
- Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures 6.5 inches.
- He/She has working taste buds, and everything I am reading tells me to start introducing new tastes now because…
- He/She is gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid a day! This helps to develop baby’s swallowing reflex.
Cravings: I am starting to crave more sweet things recently, but still can’t handle too much sugar. I’ve started eating eggs again, which is good, because they are super healthy for baby, but I had stopped eating them after the fiasco that was known as “Weeks 11-14.”
Baby Bump: Growing steadily. I am thankful to finally be looking pregnant, and I absolutely love feeling the baby move! Denny still hasn’t been able to feel any of the movement, but it is coming! We just have to be patient. And, I’m convinced that the baby just loves feeling the warmth of his/her daddy’s hand on my belly.
Sweet Daddy Moment: Last night, when we were trying to get Denny to feel the baby moving, I noticed that the baby would move after Denny said something, so I’m pretty sure he/she was responding to his voice {even if he/she doesn’t know exactly who we are yet}. I pointed this out to Denny, and encouraged him to talk some more, so he talked to the baby! It was precious, because honestly, what do you say to a baby in-utero? So Denny just said what came naturally and called out to the baby, “Hey! Little Man… or Little Woman! Hey, are you in there?” Precious!
Other Changes: I am having to eat smaller meals, because I’m pretty sure my stomach is already being crowded out by my growing uterus. So weird! It doesn’t help that I have been hungrier lately, either, because I haven’t been able to discipline myself to eat every 3 hours again. So, I’ve had a few episodes of indigestion and discomfort. No biggie.
Also super cool? We are up to 7 pregos in our Life Group, all of us due between the 1st of the year and the end of April! For 3 of us it’s our first time on the pregnancy ride, for 4 others this is their second time around. Here is a picture of the 4 of us who made it to game night last Friday night : )
