We bought a house today! Oh. Dear. Lord... What. Have we. Done!?!?!
Once we found out we were pregnant, it was obvious that the house hunting would have to at least start. We have been more than happy in our cozy 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment for over a year, and though sometimes it does feel cramped and claustrophobic, we really haven't felt much urgency to drop a ton of cash on a house. My husband is one of the wisest men I know; he is financially smart and responsible, and he is patient to boot. So I knew in searching for home, we would pace ourselves and not make any impulsive or unwise decisions. We have a list of certain criteria we are unwilling to compromise on, and the knowledge that there are deals to be had, not to mention the Lord's timing to abide by.
A really cute home came on the market last week, and as it turns out, it was going to the auction today. We went and looked at it on Saturday, and I was very pleased with the location, the lot size, the home's size and condition (as far as we could tell)... so we decided to bid on it.
I totally was not expecting for this house to be even go through the auction officially, let alone for us to have the winning bid. But whatdaya' know? Not only did it not cancel, which happens more often than not, but ours WAS the winning bid!
And so... I present to you... our new home!!

The amazing thing about this whole journey is that my prayer for a few months now has been that the Lord's will be done for our family in HIS perfect timing. Doubt creeps in and we wonder if we have made a mistake, and then I realize that my faith isn't as strong as it should be. If our prayer has been, "Lord, your will be done. Close any doors that will lead us away from your perfect plan for us, and make it abundantly clear when these blessings come from you," then, why is there doubt? I have to remind myself to rejoice that He answers prayers, and to be grateful for His provision. God is so good, and we ARE grateful!!!
