Today has been the best day I’ve had in the past 15 weeks—hooray! I actually left for work on time this morning and didn’t rush in frazzled and nauseous to our 8 o’clock meeting. I was starving for REAL food by 10:30am, and baby allowed me to have some broccoli. Thank you darling! I did not feel sluggish or sleepy at all in the afternoon, and I seriously feel like I could walk 5 miles today. Ahhh… 2nd trimester heaven! I still have to eat small meals about every 3 hours, which I haven’t gotten quite used to again, otherwise I do get nauseous. My pants no longer fit properly, for real this time, and no matter how hard I try to “suck it in”, the belly is there.
We had our annual “Christmas in September” kick off for the Singing Christmas Trees last night, and I am so fortunate that my director and choreographer said she would like for me to learn the dance numbers, and if I feel comfortable and don’t look awkwardly pregnant, I can perform. I think the rush of endorphins when she said that last night flushed out any other hormones wreaking havoc on my system, because I’ve been on a high ever since. She was so encouraging, even sharing how she and some of her friends danced and performed until their 9th month of pregnancy (I do use the term “dance” loosely). Still, I am overjoyed about the fact that not only will I not have to sit out of Trees this year; I get to dance alongside my best friends. I always dreamed of being able to dance while pregnant. Maybe this baby is a little ballerina in training already!
Craving of the week: Bacon, anything savory and salty, lemonade
Body Changes: A lot… everywhere. I think mostly obvious to me, but they’re OBVIOUS!
Baby Movement: Not yet, but I still think I feel him/her on my right side.
